pictures were taken from the pdf copy of my final year project thesis hence the poor quality. apologies for that. looking through the 168 pages of effort, the memories just came flooding back. i'm not sure if it was a good project or not, but i'm mighty proud of the results.
so the purpose of this blog. this is the fading dream. for a while there, it really did kill my confidence. i started to doubt everything i did and everything that i worked for. thought it wasn't good enough. it probably is, it probably isn't. whatever it is, i guess i did all i can at that time to achieve my dreams but it just wasn't enough. as a consequence, the dream is slipping further away with each turning month. and i'm in a position now where the risk to pursue my dreams is much greater. and it's a risk that i do not dare to take.
anyway, i vaguely recall that i wanted to write about my final year project here. but after delaying it for so long, i guess these pics will have to do. anyway, if anyone out there is doing a similar project or if anyone is interested to talk about stuff like this, leave a comment and i'm more than happy to get back to you.
ps: not sure if you understood what my fading dream is all about. but too lazy to explain it further. =P

hey nic,
life is cruel sometimes. i guess it's as important to chase for your dream, as it's to know when to find a new goal. goals and dreams are not really interchangeable entities. that said, never give up too easily too. as you can see now, i am just talking crap...
nice fancy 3d meshing though. is that for CFD?
i somehow understood what you were trying to say, so i dun think it's all crap. maybe coz that's the choice that i'm facing right now.
and those 3d mesh were for the cfd analysis. and it could have been so much better if i had access to a super computer at the time... =)
meshing...my FYP...
dream...for me, is like a castle behind the fog. As time goes by, the wind is blowing the fog away. Castle become clearer n clearer. Then I realise it is smt I couldn't reach by hand. Far far away from me...
um, isn't it an f1 car?
i recently completed my 3d FE model for my beam-column joint too. did a few cyclic analysis, that took 1 week to run. :) and i am applying to run it on the supercomputer in my uni. :P
how many element and dof you have?
lol! wei didnt know you render stuff! lol. and youre majoring in fluid? or chasis design? lol! very cool! very cool!
at times we get what we aim for in life... sometimes it's just another dream but be happy for at least having achieving that particular dream. not many would has had that gift! we are created for a purpose and reason.the purpose of your life is far greater than your personal fulfillment,it's far greater than your wildest dreams and ambitions.you were born by his purpose and for his purpose.in years to come you'll understand the concept of life.be happy with what you've achieve so far.give thanks to God!!
cl,
although i risk giving advice that i don't follow myself, but a dream is there for us to have an inspiration and a direction for us to pave our path in life. nothing is too far for us to try reaching. the important word here is "try"... no regrets!=)
kam,
my project just has about a million tetrahedral cells. that's coz i was using my home computer to run this thing and i think i tried to increase the number of cells but it took too long and my computer crashed... hahaha... it would be so cool to have access to a supercomputer and have a thorough analysis...
jason,
well, it looks like an f1 car but it's not "just" an f1 car. i designed that baby from scratch... anyway, it was something i'm crazy about(still am)...
jim,
actually i'm not majoring in fluids or chassis design... although looking at my final year electives, it's probably more inclined towards fluids... =P
this project is just an interest really... something i feel passionate about... and i'm glad you think it's cool instead of geeky... hahaha...
aww come on. if mechE students think that thats geeky, lol, what else should we be interested in? :P
